The Silent Service

This series will explore the world of the U.S. Navy Submariner in World War II. We'll dive deep to periscope depth in the Pacific and hunt a convoy of Japanese freighters. We'll surface in the Atlantic and fire upon a stricken German U-Boat. At 1/3, speed we'll sneak into Tokyo Bay, and wreck havoc upon the Japanese Fleet.

We'll learn about the men who lived and hunted under the sea, while discussing the different submarines and their use in war. We'll explore the tactics used to destroy the enemy, and how submarines contributed to the final victory of Imperial Japan and Nazi Germany.

See how trendsetters like Dudley Morton and Richard O'Kane brought new ideas to submarine warfare, showing that aggressive strategies, like surface running, were the best way to sink most enemy ships.
