Lost Over France

Lost Over France

Lost Over France is a story of a Malaysian family fighting for the British during World War 2. It is also the story of one of the most cutting edge planes of it’s time - The Hawker Typhoon – the forgotten wartime plane that always flew in the shadow of the glamorous and highly revered Spitfire and Hurricane. Known in it’s developing years as the flying Coffin, the Typhoon went on to become one of the most advanced planes of it’s day, with an engine so powerful many new pilots had trouble controlling it.

Lost Over France also reunites some of the key storytellers of that period. From Henry Tallala’s surviving brothers and nephews, to some of the World War 2’s last remaining British typhoon pilots. Alongside photos from the Tallala personal collection, we also see unique archive footage of the Typhoon’s role in WW2 from the Imperial War Museum London and high octane graphic reenactments reliving the last journey of Henry.
